The organisation’s mission addresses Audrey’s observation: “Arts for all is the intent; yet Black mature female creatives are at the bottom of the pile. This is not OK. We are old at 35 apparently and post George Floyd the plethora of schemes to improve DEIB are for 18-35-year-olds.”
Through the Safe Space Sisterhood, Audrey is giving voice to the voiceless, raising visibility of overlooked creative professionals, and, with intersectionality at play, building a community for female creatives over 30, regardless of race, to work together to reshape narratives around inclusion and parity through creative empowerment. “We’re opening our own doors to control our future. Developing projects that promote art and creativity as tools for positive change in pursuit of a fairer, more inclusive world. Come join us.”
